A long-term collaborative movement that begins in New Zealand and grows through partnerships across the Pacific — home to some of the world's most unique ecosystems, cultures and biodiversity.
To establish the Pacific as a global leader in pollinator conservation, environmental education and climate resilience — by connecting communities, schools, scientists, iwi, governments, conservation organisations and businesses through practical action.
Build a proven model — launch Bee Resilient schools, create pollinator habitats, develop citizen science, establish business partnerships and measure environmental outcomes, anchored by Beetopia, the resilience lab for New Zealand.

Bee Advocacy is bringing together leading architects, designers, builders, renewable energy partners and environmental innovators to create an outdoor learning space unlike anything currently found in New Zealand.
Designed around the geometry of the honeycomb, The Hive will become the heart of the Bee Resilient programme at Leigh School — a place where children learn about biodiversity by experiencing it every day. Every element becomes part of the learning experience:

Design inspiration
When a building is designed around how children learn, the architecture itself becomes the teacher.
At Fuji Kindergarten in Tokyo — widely celebrated as the world's best kindergarten — Tezuka Architects created an oval school whose roof is an endless playground and whose classrooms have real trees growing through them. Children climb, wander and learn through the building itself. The Hive brings that same child-centred thinking to Aotearoa: honeycomb geometry in place of the oval, and living biodiversity in place of walls.
